Old Law School Building at the University
		      of Michigan

In this black and white photograph of the old Law School Building on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, numerous people are standing and sitting informally on the steps leading up to the main entrance of the three story square building. The front has many long, narrow windows, vaulted at the top. A low gable covering the middle third of the front roof line completes the bas relief columns rising from the foundation. Two chimneys are visible above the roof. Converging sidewalks and several trees occupy the space in front of the building, which was located on the northwest corner of the diagonal in the center of campus. The building was constructed in 1863, renovated and enlarged in 1893 and again in 1898. It burned in 1950.
