![]() This photograph from the early 20th Century shows the front and part of the east side of the Henry Germann home in Quincy. The home is a large, three-story Victorian style home, with decorative window casements and soffits. A two-story bay window dominates the architectural design. Several mature trees are visible on the large, open lot. A Model T Ford automobile is parked on the street directly in front of the house, at the foot of the concrete steps and broad sidewalk leading up to the small, trellised front porch and double door entrance. Someone has handwritten “HENRY GERMANN” on the photograph in the grassy area between the sidewalk and the curb. The roof of the home is steeply pitched, and two tall brick chimneys are visible. The photograph itself is neither square nor rectangular, but intricately cut with a multi-lined dark and light border. | |
